Discover More Than Just a Search Result
Pathfinder is designed to help you discover the very best destinations across the United States and Canada. Unlike a traditional search engine, Pathfinder gathers information from multiple trusted sources simultaneously—including Google, AI-powered travel research, mapping services, and other trusted travel resources—to create a single, easy-to-read destination guide.
Think of Pathfinder as your personal travel concierge and planning tool. Rather than showing you everything in an area, Pathfinder helps narrow down the choices and recommends the experiences most worth your time—from top attractions and must-see places to hiking and biking trails, kayaking opportunities, campgrounds, and great places to eat.
Behind the scenes, Pathfinder uses a proprietary algorithm that evaluates multiple data points, including Google ratings and reviews, to identify and prioritize highly rated experiences in each destination. The goal isn’t to overwhelm you with hundreds of options—it’s to help you quickly discover the places and experiences that stand out.
Instead of spending hours jumping between websites, reading countless reviews, and trying to decide what’s worth visiting, Pathfinder brings everything together in one place. You spend less time researching and more time planning your next adventure.
Our mission is simple: help you spend less time searching and more time exploring.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my first search sometimes take up to a minute?
When a destination is searched for the very first time, Pathfinder gathers information from several different data sources, analyzes it, and builds your custom results page. Depending on the destination, this process can take anywhere from a few seconds to about a minute.
Once that destination has been searched, Pathfinder stores the results, allowing future searches for the same destination to load almost instantly.
Why isn’t my favorite attraction, restaurant, or campground showing up?
Pathfinder is designed to recommend quality over quantity.
For attractions, restaurants, and campgrounds, Pathfinder primarily relies on Google ratings and review counts to determine what is displayed. We use both:
- A minimum Google rating requirement
- A minimum number of Google reviews
This helps ensure we’re recommending places that have consistently impressed visitors rather than locations with only a handful of reviews.
Because of this:
- A brand-new restaurant may have incredible food but not enough reviews yet to qualify.
- A campground or attraction may not meet our minimum Google rating requirement.
- Some locations simply haven’t accumulated enough visitor feedback for us to confidently recommend them.
Our goal is to showcase the destinations and businesses that have consistently earned outstanding reviews so you can plan your trip with confidence.
Why do you only display a limited number of photos?
Every image displayed within Pathfinder comes from third-party data providers, and those providers charge us for every photo that is displayed.
To keep Pathfinder free for everyone, we’ve intentionally limited the number of images shown while still providing enough visual inspiration to help you plan your trip.
This allows us to invest our resources into improving Pathfinder’s features instead of passing costs on to our users.
Why is there a limit on the number of searches?
Each Pathfinder search pulls information from multiple premium data providers, and each search has an associated cost.
To help keep Pathfinder available as a free planning tool, we currently limit users to 20 free searches.
As Pathfinder continues to grow, we’ll continue looking for ways to provide even more value while keeping the platform affordable and sustainable.
How are destinations selected?
Pathfinder isn’t designed to list every attraction, restaurant, or campground in an area. Instead, it focuses on helping you discover the places that are most worth your time.
By combining trusted travel resources with Google ratings and AI-powered research, Pathfinder highlights the highest-rated attractions, restaurants, campgrounds, hiking trails, and experiences to help you make the most of your trip.
Our goal is to eliminate information overload and provide you with curated recommendations you can trust.
Why doesn’t Pathfinder have every destination yet?
Pathfinder is a rapidly growing platform, and we’re continuously expanding our destination coverage, improving our search algorithms, and adding new features.
While we already cover thousands of destinations across the United States and Canada, new locations and enhancements are being added on an ongoing basis.
If you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for today, there’s a good chance it will be available in a future update.
Our vision is to make Pathfinder the most comprehensive RV and road trip planning tool available—and we’re improving it every week.
Pathfinder is Constantly Evolving
Pathfinder is still in active development, and we’re continually improving the platform based on feedback from our users.
While we work hard to provide accurate and up-to-date information, you may occasionally encounter a glitch, outdated information, or a result that doesn’t seem quite right. If you do, we’d love to hear from you.
We also welcome your ideas for future features and enhancements. Many of the improvements on our development roadmap have come directly from suggestions submitted by our users.
