Cuban Mojo Pork (Crockpot)
(Tender, Citrus-Garlic Pulled Pork with Bold Flavor)
Slow-cooked pork shoulder infused with bright citrus, garlic, and warm spices, then shredded into juicy, flavor-packed bites—this Cuban-inspired dish is effortless, versatile, and absolutely irresistible.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 4 lbs pork shoulder
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup lime juice
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp oregano
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
Directions
Sear the Pork
- Season pork with salt and pepper
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side)
👉 This step = extra flavor. Don’t skip it if you can help it!
Build the Flavor
- Add orange juice, lime juice, cumin, oregano, red pepper, garlic, and bay leaves to the crockpot
- Stir to combine
Slow Cook
- Transfer pork (and pan juices!) into the crockpot
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours
Shred & Finish
- Remove bay leaves
- Shred pork with two forks
- Toss in juices to soak up all that citrusy goodness
Serving Suggestions
- Serve in warm tortillas with slaw
- Over rice with black beans
- Piled high on a toasted sandwich roll
