Lemon Butter Dump Cake

(Ridiculously Easy, Bright & Buttery Goodness)

A sweet-tart lemon dessert with a gooey, buttery center and golden cake topping—this effortless dump cake is sunshine in every bite. This is the kind of dessert that makes people say, “Wait…that’s it?? That’s all you did??” and then proceed to eat half the pan.

Ingredients

• 1 (21 oz) can lemon pie filling
• 1 box yellow cake mix
• ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
• ½ cup cream cheese, cubed (optional but AMAZING)
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• Zest of 1 lemon (optional, but recommended)
• Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Directions

Prep

• Preheat oven to 350°F
• Lightly grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish

Layer It (aka the “dump” part 😄)

• Spread lemon pie filling evenly in the bottom
• Sprinkle lemon zest over the filling
• Scatter cream cheese cubes on top (if using)

Add Cake Mix

• Evenly sprinkle dry cake mix over everything

Butter It Up

• Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix
• Try to cover as much surface as possible

Bake

• Bake for 40–45 minutes
• Top should be golden with some slightly crisp edges

Cool Slightly & Serve

• Let sit for about 10–15 minutes
• Dust with powdered sugar if desired
